Slalom World Championships

Yesterday the world canoe Slalom championships kicked off in Bratislava to a windy start but it didn't take long for the racing to come to an end. Due to high winds the organisers stopped the racing and nullified the results as the conditions were unfair. Racing yesterday was very stressful for those involved as unfortunate penalties due to wind were set to decide whether or not individuals qualified for the semi-finals which will serve as Olympic qualifiers. The organisers then decided that today (Thursday) they would decide at 9am if the racing would go ahead at 2pm. They decided that the conditions were still unfair and hence racing has been cancelled for today. A new racing programme is due to be published at 12, it will most likely state that racing will happen tomorrow for all classes. I will post an update when more is known but you can keep an eye on the race website. Click here for race website
