The Irish Canoe Union operates a variety of courses from its Training Centre on the River Liffey. Located in Strawberry Beds which between Chapelizod and Lucan, the Centre offers a range of Skills and Instructor training courses.
Facilities
The Liffey Centre is equipped with a full fleet of modern kayaks, wetsuits, bouyancy aids, spraydecks, cags, helmets and paddles. There are male and female changing rooms with hot showers. There is also a large lecture room.
How to join a course
To book on a course at the Liffey Training Centre, just download the appropriate application form and return along with the course fee to - Irish Canoe Union, Sport HQ, Park West, Dublin 12 .

How to get there
From Dublin
From Parkgate Street (on the North bank of the Liffey opposite Heuston Railway Station) proceed along Conyngham Road. This runs parallel between the Liffey and the wall of the Phoenix Park. At the traffic lights at the end of Coyngham road, continue straight. Drive up Knockmaroon Hill and take a left at the next lights. Drive down the hill, onto the Strawberry Beds Road, past The Anglers Rest on your right. The ICU Training Centre is on your left, shortly after passing under a white railway bridge.
From Lucan
From Lucan Village, go over Lucan Bridge and turn right. Proceed along this road until you pass under the Westlink Bridge. The Centre is on your right.
