Gazette Dublin Sports Awards
Neil Fleming- Celbrige Paddlers Canoe Club and Peter Egan-Salmon Leap Canoe Club with Paul Dempsey of Setanta Sports at the presentation of the Clarion Hotel – Lucan Gazette Dublin Sports Awards ceremony for 2011 held at the Clarion Hotel on Friday 3rd February which was covered by Setanta Sports.
Fleming and Egan won the “Team of the month award” for October having had their most successful year to date winning the following competitions during 2011.
July: National K2 Doubles Marathon Championships title.
August: British K2 Doubles Marathon title.(first ever Irish crew to win this title)
October:K2 winners of the International Liffey Descent
11th in the K2 World Marathon Championships,Singapore
Setanta Sports will be showing a full programme of the awards ceremony over the next couple of weeks.

Wacko on the Jacko
Due to lack of Water the organizers have had to Cancel the Wacko on the Jacko , full refund will be giving to those who have entered . The event will be re-run on the 26th February, Avonmore River. Pre Registration only at www.totalexperience.ie

Inny Classic
The First kayaking race of the year will be held on the river Inny, Ballymahon, Co. Longford.
Feb 12th, C1's 10am, main race 12am, free soup and sambos afterwards. Prizes Galore!

Sports Woman of the Month Award
Congratulations to Jenny Egan after a fantastic season representing both Salmon Leap Canoe Club and Team Ireland on both the Sprint and marathon circuits. Taking a well deserved Silver Medal in the World Cup 5000m event in Liberec, Czech Republic.
Jenny was awarded The Irish Times Sports Woman of the month award for May. She received her award this week from the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Irish Times editor Kevin O' Sullivan and the Chairman of the Irish Sports Council Kieran Mulvey.
