Dear NGB,

Information attached will be of interest to yourselves and to clubs in your area, any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

The EU are bringing into force a new regulation on data protection called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), which is coming into effect on the 25th May 2018. The GDPR strengthens individual’s rights in respect to their personal data that any organisation may hold on them. This will not only affect businesses, but also voluntary bodies, community groups and sporting organisations.

To help clubs/groups prepare for how this may affect them, South Dublin County Sports Partnerships, South Dublin Volunteer Centre, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership are hosting two practical information seminars.

  • Monday, 16th of April at 7pm in Red Cow Moran Hotel, Naas Road, Dublin 22
  • Monday, 30th of April from 6:30pm in The Wood Quay Venue (Behind Dublin City Council Civic Offices)

The regulation will be enforced from May 2018 and the transition period is now. This is your chance to find out the facts about how the GDPR will affect your club/group and the simple steps you can take to get started on the path to being GDPR compliant.

The seminar will address:

  • An overview of the Data Protection legislation
  • Specific changes arising from GDPR
  • Impact to sports clubs
  • Tools and supports available

Of particular interest to the person in the club/group responsible for managing membership information, admission is free, but places are limited and must be pre-registered. To get your ticket please follow the links below.
