These courses are a basic introduction to the sport of kayaking. The course programme covers Canoeing Ireland’s Level 2 Kayak Skills syllabus and includes an optional assessment. They are suitable for total beginners or for participants who have some previous experience . Each course introduces participants to basic boat handling skills along with the necessary safety and rescue skills needed for paddling in a flat- water environment.
The courses are practical in nature with an overall emphasis of on- the -water paddling experience. Each course consists of 6 evening sessions over 6 consecutive weeks.
The course fee is €280 which includes provision of kayak and all necessary safety equipment and gear.
