A renowned figure in the paddle sports community, Adrian Harkin is a resilient individual on a journey shaped by the challenges of Motor Neuron Disease (MND), this Saturday 20th April the ‘Summit to Sea for MND‘ challenge aims to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neruone Disease Association 🚣 We are encouraging our members to show their support for this incredible event, with its unique combination of paddling and climbing to raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause. Looking forward to a great 2024 with our PaddleAble ambassadors 🩵 Moira Scott from Tullamore Canoe Club has been paddling for 10 years across a great range of disciplines 🚣‍♀️ Moira, a two time Special Olympics gold medallist, is currently working to get her roll in the kayak 🙌 Moiras energy and determination are a massive inspiration to the PaddleAble programme 🚣‍♀️

The upcoming Instructor Symposium, planned for the 13th-14th April, has unfortunately had to be postponed until autumn of this year 🛟 We want to ensure the best possible event for the development of paddle sports, and with the busy period of activity ahead and limited availability for attendees we want to ensure as many people as possible are able to engage in the workshops and networking. Launching the first session at our upcoming Instructor symposium - 'Safety and Rescue' workshop run by Colin Wong 🛟 Colin is one of the most travelled and experienced instructors in Ireland. Although active in many disciplines Colin has paddled extensively across the planet, weather its sea kayaking in the Persian gulf or expedition paddling across Africa. All of these travels have gained him a wealth of experience.The session will look at a shared facilitation of concepts and practical skills that are beneficial to various types of instructors and environment 🚣 Make sure you dont miss out on the wealth of information at this session and across the entire weekend, and book your place now.
