Youth Kayak Academy 2019

Course Aim

The principle aim of the Youth Kayak Academy is to provide further training opportunities for young people (between ages of 10-16) to further develop their kayaking skills. It also aims to provide further opportunities for junior canoeists to continue their participation in the sport. Participants must at be of Level 2 skills standard or working towards Level 2 and comfortable wearing a spraydeck.

  • Coaching Clinics in competitive disciplines
  • Short River Trips

Term 2 – Sept 2019

The second term of the Junior Kayak Academy starts this September on Saturday mornings and afternoons. Young people will be divided into appropriate age groups on the first day.

What to bring

The Training Centre will  supply all the kayaking gear. Students need to bring appropriate clothing for under the wetsuit, Shorts/Swimming gear, warm fleece/hoodie or thermal that can get wet and also old runners and a towel

Children must be signed in and out of the school every day by a parent or guardian
