The Liffey Odyssey is an 8 kilometre fun and leisurely canoe tour down the River Liffey through the heart of Dublin. It starts at Islandbridge and finishes at the East Link Bridge. This event is being hosted by I-Canoe and Lucan Kayak Club and supported by Dublin Port as a fundraiser for Barretstown . It is open to the general public however all prospective participants must satisfy the organisers they have sufficient ability to participate and must wear a Buoyancy Aid and Helmet and appropriate safety equipment and bring suitable clothing. Open Canoes are the recommended craft however it is open to Kayaks ,Sit-on- Tops , Rafts and SUPs.
Fancy Dress is strongly encouraged with Polar Exploration theme to commemorate the centenary of Ernest Shackleton’s expedition to Antarctica
