With our Canoe Slalom Team finished up at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games they now join the rich history of Irish paddlers at the Olympic Games. Noel Hendrick, Madison Corcoran and Michaela Corcoran are all new additions to our list of Olympians, with Liam Jegou already present after his first Games in Tokyo 2020. Since canoeing’s first appearance in the Games in Munich 1972 Ireland has had twenty four representatives across Sprint and Slalom, testament to the passion and dedication paddlers across the country have shown throughout the years at the highest levels of sport. Both disciplines are well represented, sprint have eleven Olympians and Slalom having thirteen. Adding four names to this list in a single Olympics shows the return to strength Irish Paddle sports are seeing, one which we hope will see a lot more future Olympians being added to our already proud history.
