Canoeing Ireland is proud to announce Kingspan as the new sponsor of its Performance Programme, supporting athlete welfare and education initiatives that will help Ireland’s top paddlers succeed both on and off the water.
Through this partnership, the Kingspan Kickstart Sports Fund will invest in projects that promote athlete wellbeing, education and sustainable participation in high performance sport. The funding reflects Kingspan’s commitment to supporting communities and creating meaningful opportunities for athletes to reach their full potential.
The investment will strengthen Canoeing Ireland’s athlete welfare programme, building on the recent launch of the Athlete Zone and Athlete Welfare Policy. It will support initiatives that equip athletes with the knowledge, resources and wellbeing support needed to manage the demands of elite sport while developing sustainable, successful careers.
The partnership was officially launched with Paris 2024 Olympians Noel Hendrick and Michaela Corcoran, alongside several of Ireland’s emerging athletes currently targeting qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
In addition, the partnership aligns with Kingspan’s broader Planet Passionate programme, particularly through its connection to water and environmental stewardship, reinforcing a shared commitment to responsible and sustainable sport.
This partnership will enhance the provision of athlete wellbeing supports within the performance programme, ensuring Ireland’s paddlers have the backing they need to compete at the highest level while building healthy, sustainable careers both on and off the water.
