The 2025 Junior Liffey Descent saw our young paddlers take on the 14 kilometer route along the Liffey from Salmon Leap Canoe Club to the Canoe Centre in Palmerstown. Despite the lower water levels the day provided all the fun and excitement we are used to seeing from the Junior Liffey, with the stunning weather on the day helping matters.
The race finish provided the a great chance for the whole community to come together to reconnect with paddling friends and celebrate a fantastic day of junior paddling. This atmosphere was boosted by the presence of the Special Olympics Kayakers who joined the later stages of the race, their infectious energy and passion for the sport always puts a smile on peoples faces.
We saw great performances as usual throughout the racing, with a big congratulations going to everyone who took part. Our heartfelt thanks go as well to all the rescue crews who kept the participants safe, and all the volunteers who helped make the race such a success.
