Canoeing Ireland is proud to announce the launch of our , Volunteer Like Us campaign, presented by multiple sprint and marathon medallist Jenny Egan-Simmons.

This campaign shines a light on the incredible volunteers who are the heart of paddle sports in Ireland. From coaches and instructors, to club committee members, to the countless paddlers who spend their time on the water sharing their passion, volunteers make our sport possible. Their dedication, passion, and generosity not only keep clubs and events running but also inspire the next generation of paddlers.

The Volunteer Like Us campaign is all about giving recognition and visibility to the people who give so much back to their communities. These are individuals with remarkable stories—people who go above and beyond, often behind the scenes, to make sure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy paddle sports safely.

The aim of this campaign is simple – celebrate the inspiring volunteers around the country who are making a difference in their communities on a daily basis. Through sharing these heartwarming stories we hope to inspire the next generation of volunteers in our sport to get involved and experience the joy of giving back through paddle sports.

Over the coming weeks, Canoeing Ireland will be sharing these inspiring volunteer stories and celebrating the individuals who make our community what it is. We encourage everyone—whether you’re a paddler, supporter, or part of a club—to help us celebrate these incredible people and share these videos anywhere you see them. Together we can continue to grow our vibrant community, and promote ever greater levels of participantion.
