Canoeing Ireland is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone involved in our sport. After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our use of the X platform.
In recent years, changes to the platform’s governance, content moderation and safety systems have raised concerns about its ability to adequately protect users and support inclusive participation. As an organisation that works extensively in equity, diversity and inclusion, and that prioritises safeguarding and wellbeing, we believe it is important that the platforms we use reflect those values.
We will continue to communicate with our community through channels that better support constructive engagement, accessibility and safety, and we remain committed to open, transparent communication with our members and stakeholders.
