Canoeing Ireland and the Irish Wildwater Racing Committee are pleased to release the selection policy for the 2026 international wildwater season.
The Purpose of this selection policy is to outline the procedures for the selection of the best athletes to represent Ireland at the events as detailed below. The selection policy is designed to allow athletes to maximise preparations and performances.
- 21-24 May Banja Luka (Bosnia). Senior World Championships
- 5-7 June Dunaremete, Hungary. Senior World Cup 1 & 2
- 12-14 June Bratislava (Slovakia). Senior World Cup 3, 4
- 25-28 June Mezzana (Italy). Senior World Cup 5 & 6
- 12-15 August Grandtully (Scotland). Junior & U23 European Championships
Any athlete wishing to be considered for selection for the 2026 season is required to e-mail their interest to wwrchair@canoe.ie and/or wwrsecretary@canoe.ie. Attempts to register via any other e-mail address or means of communication will be considered invalid. The closing date for registration will be 10th March 2026.
It is the sole responsibility of the athlete to register their interest by the correct means and on/before the published closing date. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances.
