Canoeing Ireland is encouraging all members to be aware of a new confidential reporting tool launched by Sport Ireland, designed to support clean sport across all levels. Athletes, coaches and support personnel can now report any concerns about doping directly through WhatsApp, providing a simple and secure way to speak up. The service allows users to communicate with Sport Ireland’s Anti-Doping Unit while remaining completely anonymous, removing many of the barriers that can prevent people from reporting concerns.
The platform, powered by RealResponse, is designed to be straightforward and accessible, with no app download required. Reports can be submitted via WhatsApp, text or email, and users’ personal details are fully protected through anonymisation. Importantly, the system also allows for two-way communication, meaning Sport Ireland can follow up on reports while still maintaining the anonymity of the individual. This approach strengthens the overall effectiveness of anti-doping efforts by making it easier to raise concerns quickly and safely from any device.
This initiative forms part of Sport Ireland’s wider anti-doping programme, which is built on testing, education and research, and reflects an ongoing commitment to protecting the integrity of sport in Ireland. For Canoeing Ireland members, it reinforces the shared responsibility across the paddling community to uphold fair competition and a clean sporting environment. Whether you are an athlete, coach, volunteer or club member, you have a role to play.
If you ever have concerns about doping or suspicious behaviour, this new service provides a safe and confidential way to report it. By making reporting more accessible, the system helps ensure that issues can be addressed proactively, supporting a culture where clean sport is valued and protected at every level.
