Canoeing Ireland is delighted to congratulate Moira Aston on winning the KPMG Women in Sport Award at the Irish Sport Industry Awards.
This award recognises Moira’s outstanding leadership and lasting impact across Irish and international paddle sports. Since becoming CEO of Canoeing Ireland in 2018, Moira has led a period of transformational growth, strengthening governance, driving high-performance success, and championing inclusion at every level of the sport.
Through initiatives such as Bridge the Gap and PaddleAble, Moira has helped create greater opportunities for women, girls, and paddlers with additional needs, while continuing to position Canoeing Ireland as a global leader in paddle sports development.
A hugely deserved recognition for a leader whose vision, passion, and commitment continue to inspire athletes, volunteers, coaches, and communities across the sport.
