Paddling gives us the opportunity to connect with some of Ireland’s most valuable natural environments, but it also comes with a responsibility to protect the places we enjoy.
Canoeing Ireland has revamped its Environment section, bringing together practical advice and a wide range of resources to help paddlers, clubs, coaches and instructors make more sustainable choices.
The new section covers sustainability, biosecurity, biodiversity, equipment and the positive impact paddlers can have on the environment. It also highlights simple ways to reduce our impact, from preventing the spread of invasive species to protecting habitats and wildlife.
By understanding the impact of our activities and making small changes, we can all play a part in protecting Ireland’s rivers, lakes and coastal environments for future generations.
