The latest updates to the COVID-19 restrictions, valid from the 10th May, will see widespread returns to paddlesport activity at all levels. An easing of both travel restrictions and an increase in activity levels will allow for this return to paddling, when all other government health advice is followed. Depending on the public health situation at the time, the 7th of June will see a resumption of events and competitions. Adherence to these new guidelines to preserve public health will give the best chance of further easing of restrictions on the 7th of June.
The latest COVID guidelines effective from 10th May are –
- Organised outdoor paddling activity including contact sport can resume for all in pods of 15 including supervisor
- Use of indoor changing facilities is not permitted until further notice. Essential toilet facilities can open.
- You can travel between counties in Ireland
- Events which may exceed 15 person capacity must contact Canoeing Ireland to discuss the nature of the event. Events are under consideration to return on the 7th June.
As with all paddlesports activity please ensure to adhere to all Canoeing Ireland safety guidelines when getting out on the water.
