National Water Safety Awareness Week runs from 13th to 19th June. The aim of the week is to make all water users aware of the simple steps they can take to stay safe around our rivers, lakes and coasts this summer. These waterways are a fantastic place to enjoy exercise and the outdoors during the summer but they need our respect.
The essential rules for engaging in paddlesports activities are –
Be able to swim
ALWAYS wear a buoyancy aid. Required by law
Never paddle alone
These essentials can help you keep yourself, your family and friends safe while enjoying the water. For more safety advice please see our safety page –
