Introducing the 2022 Freestyle Kayaking Team. Ahead of the Freestyle Kayaking World Championships in Nottingham (27th June-2nd July) we are announcing a team of athletes with both great strength and fantastic depth. This team of 22 athletes is one of the biggest Ireland has entered to a freestyle championships, with plenty of previous medallists and finalists in the ranks. David McClure, the current European Champion in K1 M, will be one to watch, competing to add a World title to his current European victory. In the K1 Women the bronze medallist from last years Europeans, Aoife Hanrahan, will be hoping to better her previous medal winning performance and take home some more silverwear.

These championships offer a fantastic opportunity to the whole team with the course in Nottingham being familiar territory for all the paddlers, with a large portion of the team having put in an extended training camp in the lead in. Meet the full team of athletes below –
