The #BeActive Paddle Day is back in 2021. As part of the European Week of Sport (23rd – 30th September) we are collaborating with Sport Ireland to provide opportunities for anyone and everyone to get out on the water and experience Paddlesports, regardless of age or ability.

The launch for this year event, held in Ballyconnell Marina, saw members of Cavan Sports Partnership, Waterways Ireland, and members of Cavan Canoe Club all get out on the water in support of the #BeActive Paddle Day.

One of many events happening across the European Week of Sport, the #BeActive Paddle Day will once again see us partner with our Clubs and various OETCs to provide beginner session all over the country for the public to get active and get out on the water to try a new sport. All sessions will be facilitated by qualified instructor who can provide the most enjoyable paddlesport experience. Canoeing Ireland would like to encourage those who are not regularly involved in sport to take part and enjoy a morning, or afternoon of paddling! Each session will last approximately 2 hours and will take place on flat water on either a river, canal, the sea or a lake.

All session will be run in line with the current COVID-19 restrictions, with every consideration to participants hygiene and safety.
