Canoeing Ireland are excited to announce that applications are now open for the next two-year cycle of Bridge the Gap Ambassadors! Applications are open to all women in the paddling community, whether you are a beginner, paddling your whole life, or have stopped paddling and are involved in another way!

Ambassadors will take part in a two-year programme beginning with Leadership & Mentoring Training, and continuing with ongoing support for ideas that ambassadors would like to make a reality.

Sport Ireland’s Women in Sport Steering Committee have identified four key target areas for development which Sport NGBs throughout Ireland are focusing on:
Active (Regular) Participation
Coaching, Instructing & Officiating
Leadership & Governance
Visibility

We have seen that effective leadership skills are essential for developing the four areas above which is why we have developed the Bridge the Gap Ambassador Programme.

Are you passionate about bridging the gender gap in paddlesports in Ireland?
Would you like to contribute to developing opportunities for women in paddlesports?
Are you enthusiastic about carrying out projects and programmes which will encourage more females to engage in paddlesports?
Are you committed to developing your own leadership and mentoring skills which will contribute to developing paddlers around Ireland?

If so, we invite you to apply to become a Bridge the Gap Ambassador!*
